Boxkarr Boxers at Fire Storm Farms Our Goats
Ruby and Jade are our ADGA registered Nubian Dairy Goats. Right now Ruby is supplying us with about 80-90 ounces of milk per day. It weighs roughly 4-4 1/2 pounds per milking. This is her first year milking.
In the future, we will be making homemade goat milk soaps. If you have a scent that you would like in a soap and want to place an order, drop me an email. I need ideas. We are also going to attempt our first time making goat cheeses. Our first attempt at goat cheese will be Feta. Mmmm... my favorite!
We aiming to show allof the goats this coming fall. One of the shows you can count on seeing us at will be in Dothan, AL at the Peanut Festival. We are also hoping to go to Tallahassee, FL for the fair and may go to Montgomery as well. We are excited about showing Jade because so far she is VERY dairy. She is 3/4 Goldthwaite and we are anxious to see how the judges like her, or better yet LOVE her.
We've decided to expand our herd and are in the process of trying to figure out how we can afford to become USDA certified... We are currently looking for grants to help us. Below will be our new additions to our farm. Thank you Darlene Bowden of Laurel Oak Dairy Goats for letting us buy these great goats from you!
And I also have to thank Sheila Lee of Sand Rock Acres for allowing me to bring home Ruby! She has given us a little joy - Ken just loves Jade!
